Been house hunting. Found a great house at a great price. Found out someone put in an offer yesterday. We’re putting in a competing offer. Fingers crossed they take ours. This is what I’ll drink to drown sorrows or celebrate.

This happened to us 3 times, keep your head up. If they don’t take the offer or it doesn’t work out it was never meant to be. We are exactly a month away from our closing date on the house we are trying to buy now. Its exciting but nerve racking! Good luck!!

Give your agent 3 signed contracts - one full price, one 5K over list, one 7.5K over list.
And we found the apartment we wanted here 6 months ago (still shopping) - I have sold real estate, appraised real estate, bought real estate from appraisals sight unseen ... I know this shit. And the apartment we found was $75K overpriced, just the amount we needed to install a new kitchen and bathroom (desperately needed).
The listing agent said said, essentially, fuck you - she’ll rent it before she sells it for what it’s worth - we said - we’ll wait and see!
When offered for rent or sale, it sold full price. Fuck. Me. Running. I was so wrong.

Good luck, it wasn’t fun when my mother and step father were looking. Worth all the headaches though.

Geeze man. Drink that if they TAKE your bid. While you wait, have something good but cheaper, like Michters, a $40 bottle in these parts.
BTW, if EHT is your “I hate my life bourbon” then might I suggest Widow Jane for celebratory moods? Such great stuff. Right up there with Blanton’s, but generally a bit cheaper.
Best wishes!

Good luck, Señor Funk!!!
I'm guessing this place has a nice big yard for all the doggies? :)

Good sized yard. Garage and carport for vehicles. More than double the size of the house we’re renting for almost the same monthly amount.

I like widow Jane. I also have barrel proof EHT. It has a bit of a kick

Thanks. It’s tough because it’s the first house we’ve totally agreed on. It checked all our boxes and then some.

Best of luck! House hunting rotates between states of boredom, elation, and despair. Kind of like home owning, now that I think of it (“Sweet! My own garden and garage!” ... “Shit! Literally! The sewer main needs to be replaced!”). We bought our place in 2001, a 1200 sq ft 4 BR ranch with a small one-car attached garage and a decent yard. The market was expensive and a bit silly then, requiring bids at or over asking on the day of listing. It’s absolutely ridiculous now. We could afford to get a bigger place in our town/neighborhood but dealing with the buying and selling sound so terrible that we’re just staying put for the foreseeable future.

Best of luck. I can’t think of a more (but in a positive way) stressful time than house hunting for us.
